Home from the Gold Canyon Convention!
Well, we're back home from our trip to Arizona for the Gold Canyon Convention & some time spent with our family there. What a great trip it was & Convention was truly an amazing experience this year! I got to spend time with 8 of my amazing team members who were also able to make the trip & together we enjoyed lots of time to have fun, get motivated, and be inspired! Here's a video clip that will give you an idea of what Convention was like, but I hope you'll check back here over the next few days as I give even more details of what made this year's convention truly wonderful!

How Does Gold Canyon Develop New Fragrances?
Gold Canyon's incredible fragrances are one of the most important ways that we stand apart from the products that other companies produce. Check out this "inside look" at the fragrance testing lab & learn the basics on how new fragrances are developed and prepared for production. This was a video prepared for Gold Canyon Demonstrators, but as a fragrance addict, I thought you might enjoy it, too! Gold Canyon has Double Wicks?
Why would you want a double wick in your candle?
Have you ever burned a candle and had it create a tunnel down the center of the wax, leaving walls of wax all around the jar? To prevent that from happening & help you to use up all of that wax on the sides, Gold Canyon uses double wicks in all of their larger jar candles! The results? See for yourself in the following pictures! When you burn a Gold Canyon candle, you should be able to see straight through that glass, without any walls of wax in the way!
To ensure that you get the best burn out of your double wicks, make sure that you allow the candle to burn long enough that the wax melts all the way across the top of the jar before extinguishing it. Keep your wicks trimmed with a Gold Canyon wick trimmer to avoid cutting the wicks too short.

Celebrate Gold Canyon's 12th Anniversary!
With a special message for demonstrators from the co-founders, Curt & Karen Waisath. And take a close look at the jar candles on the table in front of them . . . those are some of the first candles Gold Canyon produced & include their original label (I remember selling those!) ---- we've come a long way!

Grateful for Food Grade Parafin Wax
At 8 months old, Chase is basically just getting into anything & everything right now. I thought I had everything out of his reach, but when I walked in the front room today, he had one of my candle samples in his hands & he's at that stage when everything goes in his mouth -- actually he's been at that stage since he was born, hmmm.
Anyway, it reminded me of how glad I am that our jar candles are all made with FDA approved food grade parafin wax. So, while I don't sell candles for them to be eaten, I know that if a kid (mine or someone else's) gets a finger full of wax in their mouth, its okay! I don't have to freak out or call poison control or anything!
Note: our pillars are not made of food grade parafin wax, but the rest of our candles are.
