Our Baby Girl & Move to Colorado!

To all my Gold Canyon family out there, in case you hadn't heard, I wanted to let you know that our baby girl was born just over 2 weeks ago. She surprised us by coming a little over 2 weeks early (our first baby was 5 days late!). This is Elesiv May Milius, born Nov. 28, 2009!

We've also had a move across the country to Colorado. Many of you are customers from around the country, so you know that WHERE I live doesn't really matter . . . you can still order from me & have your products delivered right to you either by ordering through my website, by phone or by e-mail. For those customers that I left behind in Maryland, the same is true for you. What I won't be able to do now is home parties, though I do plan to make a trip to Maryland each year to meet with my team members there & do as many home parties for my customers as I can fit in!

Now, one last comment on Colorado. We're living in Parker, south of Denver. If you know of anyone who lives in the area that would like to host a home party to help me get my business going here, I would REALLY appreciate you passing my name on. Fragrance Recipe: Christmas Kitchen

Do you love to burn multiple candles at a time? Check out this tasty combination of fragrances that blend perfectly to give you the smells of Christmastime baking:

Scent Blending Recipes are carefully selected recipes of individual candles that when burning together, create their own unique, blended scent experience.

To maximize your fragrant experience, use the exact sizes and quantities noted in each recipe – a slight alteration can be like adding salt when you needed sugar.

FIRST: Arrange the candles on a heat-safe surface with the largest in the middle and smaller candles interspersed throughout. For votive and Tealight candles, use a holder to protect the surface.

SECOND: Place each candle approximately two inches apart in your arrangement.

THIRD: Light each candle and let the aromas mingle for at least 30 minutes to create your new fragrance experience.

Homemade Mashed Potatoes

I should've done this earlier in the week, but we've been so busy getting moved that I didn't think about it until today. One of my specialties that I love to make for Thanksgiving (or anytime) is homemade mashed potatoes. They're always a hit & so I thought I'd share my recipe with you:

5 lbs russet potatoes
1 stick of butter or margarine
16 oz. sour cream (can use light or fat free)
salt, black pepper, & garlic powder to taste

Peel & cut potatoes into small pieces -- I cut them into half, then half again, so that now you have quarters, then cut each quarter into 3 or 4 pieces. Boil until fork inserts easily. Drain potatoes & put in a large mixing bowl with butter & sour cream, then mix (with an upright or handheld mixer) or mash until well blended & mashed. Add salt, pepper & garlic powder until they taste just how you'd like them. Tasty enough to eat without adding anything at the table (butter, gravy, etc.)!

*I do have to warn you that even though Gold Canyon places Cozy Christmas in the fruits & citrus fragrance category because it has some of those undertones, it is a VERY sugar & spice fragrance according to me & every customer that I've talked with. Its description is that its a blend of cinnamon, clove, apple, and orange & the spices here definitely overpower the fruits. Its a great fragrance (really smells like Christmas!), but if you're looking for a fruit fragrance its probably not your best choice. If you're really looking for a fruit fragrance but also something that has the richness of fall, I'd recommend Cranberry Orange . . . its one of my personal favorites!
