My Favorite Gingerbread Recipe!

Gold Canyon introduced a brand new fragrance this fall called Gingerbread House. It was love at first smell for me as it brought back memories one of my favorite desserts. For a great gingerbread scent in your house, you can make this recipe or just burn a Gingerbread House candle! Or how about trying out the recipe & keeping the candle on hand so that you don't have to cook EVERY time you'd like to smell the fragrance!

Gingerbread Cake with Streusel

Beat together:
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup molasses

Add:
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves

Then Add: 1 cup hot water - mixing until smooth, then pour into greased 9x13 pan

Mix together:
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cube margarine
3/4 cup chopped pecans

Sprinkle chunks of sugar mixtgure over top of the batter. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut when cool.

This is great served with cool whip or ice cream, just like the Gingerbread House candle would be great when burned with our Sugar Cookie candle!
